my own hand dyed silk velvet

so this little piece of gold was a custom piece i did for one of my favourite clients. she wanted something in a silk velvet but all i could find was white so i decided to try dying it myself. i have dyed many different fabrics but never velvet, i am thrilled with how it turned out.

the shot without the flash is truest to the actual colour but when the light hits it the gold comes out like the shots with the flash. it changes colour like a chameleon…

unfortunately i forgot to get photos of the finished dress before my client took it home so these are working photos, the little white dots are pins- oops!
